Michael Roche

Living in Wincanton, Somerset, which, is in the south west of England, Michael Roche is a songwriter who knows how to tell a story. From the thought provoking "A Love Song For Katya", a song about survivers from various wars and conflicts in the Bolkans, through to love songs such as “Old Time Movie”.

His songs are very strong lyrically and verge on the folk/pop genre. It’s always interesting working with Michael in the studio, as his songs seem to evolve in ways that we don’t always expect. One of Michael’s tracks, “Tears Of A Different Kind”, was recently played on BBC Radio Bristol. The song, tells the story of a woman who is drug dependent. This is probably the most driving track that Michael has recorded to date, surprising really, especially when you consider the subject matter. A sample of the track is below.

Michael has been back in the studio, over the past few weeks. Mike, has been recording new material, such as the track "A Love Song For Katya", and a new version of "Old Time Movie." Michael, also recently completed work on the tracks, "A Lament For Harry Farr" and "Soldier Blues." Revised versions of those tracks, can be downloaded from this web page.
